A Quiet Residential Neighbourhood

Le Saline Apartment is located in a modern and well-kept residential neighbourhood, characterised by attractive apartment buildings, quiet streets and an authentic local atmosphere. This is not a busy nightlife district, but a genuine community where families, professionals and long-term residents live throughout the year.

The street itself carries very little traffic, making it ideal for those seeking peace and relaxation after a day at the beach or exploring the surrounding area. From the apartment, you may hear the gentle sounds of everyday neighbourhood life: people returning from work, residents shopping locally, or children coming home from school. It is a tidy, welcoming area that is easy to navigate and pleasant to explore on foot.
The apartment is situated on the third floor of a residential building with a lift, a position that provides plenty of natural light, fresh air and a good sense of privacy, while still allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere and convenience of being part of the town.
Between the Seafront and the Historic Centre

One of the neighbourhood’s greatest strengths is its strategic location: you are perfectly positioned between Chiavari’s seafront promenade and its historic town centre. Within just a few minutes on foot, you can choose whether to head down to the beach or wander through the charming arcades and narrow streets of the old town.

The seafront is approximately a 4-minute walk from the apartment: a short, flat route that is also ideal for families with children or pushchairs. In the opposite direction, the heart of the historic centre can be reached in around 6 minutes, where you will find its elegant arcades, shops, cafés and ice cream parlours.
This location allows you to experience Chiavari without needing a car. You can enjoy a morning swim, return comfortably to the apartment for lunch, and then head back out for an evening stroll along the seafront promenade as the sun begins to set.
Shops and Amenities on Your Doorstep

If you enjoy shopping for quality local ingredients and cooking at home, this neighbourhood is ideal. Just outside the building, you will find everything you need to prepare breakfasts, lunches and dinners with ease.

  • A mini-market and local food shops for everyday groceries.
  • A bakery offering fresh bread, traditional focaccia and pastries each morning.
  • A fresh pasta shop with handmade pasta and Ligurian specialities ready to cook.
  • A greengrocer selling seasonal fruit and vegetables.
  • A dairy shop and café offering a range of fresh and local products.
  • A pharmacy, one of the largest in the city.
  • Other useful neighbourhood shops for everyday needs.

Everything is within easy walking distance. You can step out to pick up any last-minute ingredients, return home in minutes, and enjoy your meal on the terrace or in the dining area, just as you would in your own home.
Experience Chiavari and the Eastern Ligurian Riviera

From the neighbourhood surrounding Le Saline Apartment, you can enjoy Chiavari at a relaxed pace, with almost everything within walking distance. In the morning, you can head to the beach, enjoy breakfast at the nearby pastry shop or at one of the cafés beneath the historic arcades, or visit the local market with its colours, aromas and lively atmosphere.

The historic centre, with its narrow carruggi, traditional shops and focaccia bakeries, is just a short walk away. You can easily alternate between strolling beneath the elegant arcades and relaxing on the apartment’s terrace or in the living room. In the evening, restaurants, cafés and the seafront promenade can all be reached without needing to use a car.
Chiavari is also an excellent base for exploring the Eastern Ligurian Riviera. Within a day, you can easily visit Portofino, Sestri Levante, the Gulf of Tigullio and the Cinque Terre, before returning to the spacious comfort of the apartment and enjoying the feeling of being at home.

From Our Blog...
While many Riviera resorts gradually slow down, reduce their services and see numerous seasonal businesses close, Chiavari simply carries on with everyday life – all year round, even in the depths of winter.
Chiavari occupies a privileged position in the heart of the Gulf of Tigullio. Located exactly in the center of the gulf, it is just a few kilometers from Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, and the small and charming Zoagli; on the eastern side, it is very close to Lavagna, Cavi Borgo, and Sestri Levante.

One of the reasons to choose Chiavari as a destination is its truly strategic location: the city is located in the geographical center of the Gulf of Tigullio, in a position that allows easy access to some of the most beautiful places in Liguria without having to face long travels.
Anyone spending a few days in the Tigullio during the summer soon realises that, particularly at weekends, there is always a village celebrating something. From the coastline to the inland valleys, almost every community organises at least one food festival, patron saint's celebration or traditional village fair

One of the most enjoyable things about a vacation at the Le Saline Apartment is the freedom to organize everything exactly as you prefer.
I don’t know about you, but for us the most beautiful time to experience Chiavari begins just when summer seems to be coming to an end.

The Beaches of Chiavari

Category Trevel Tips Date 29/06/26 Read time
One of the features that makes a holiday in Chiavari particularly enjoyable is its coastline. The town stretches from east to west and, thanks to this layout, all of its beaches face south. This means they enjoy sunshine from early morning until late afternoon, without being shaded by hills, buildings or other landscape features.
If you ask ten people from Chiavari which bakery makes the best focaccia bread in town, you will probably receive ten different answers. The amusing thing is that they will all be right.

The city market that takes place every morning, from Monday to Saturday, in Piazza Mazzini has its roots in the very history of Chiavari and its growth as the main commercial center of Tigullio.

If you only have two days to visit Chiavari, our advice is not to try to rush. Chiavari is not a city to "check off" from a list of places to see, but a place to be appreciated by strolling, stopping, observing the details, and experiencing its spaces.

One of the things that many guests pleasantly discover during their stay in Chiavari is that eating well here is surprisingly easy.
A Safe and Peaceful Environment

The apartment is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, inhabited throughout the year and well lit in the evenings.
