Le Saline Apartment is located in a quiet residential area of Chiavari, just a few minutes’ walk from both the seafront and the historic town centre.

Address: Vico Saline 11/B, 16043 Chiavari (GE), Italy.

The apartment is located in a modern building with a lift, set in a peaceful cul-de-sac within a neighbourhood of small local shops, including a mini-market, bakery, greengrocer, dairy shop, fresh pasta shop and other food stores. Nearby you will also find a traditional trattoria, a pizzeria, a pastry shop and a church.

On this page, you will find all the information you need to reach the apartment easily, whether you are travelling by train, car or air.

Chiavari railway station is served by regional and Intercity trains on the Genoa–La Spezia line. It is the most convenient and recommended way to arrive if you do not plan to use a car during your stay.

Distance from the station to the apartment: approximately 900 metres (0.6 miles), about 10–12 minutes on foot.
Walking directions: Exit the station towards the town centre, turn left and continue straight ahead. Pass two sets of traffic lights and you will reach Piazza Torriglia. Cross the square, then cross the large tree-lined boulevard (Corso Buenos Aires) and continue straight on. The first street on the left is Vico Saline: you have arrived.
The route is completely flat and easy to manage, even with suitcases or a trolley.

By taxi: A taxi rank is located directly outside the station. In just a few minutes you can be dropped off at the entrance to the building, making this a convenient option if you are travelling with heavy luggage or children.

The nearest motorway exit is Chiavari on the A12 Genoa–Livorno motorway.

After leaving the motorway toll booth, take the first right and join Corso Genova. Continue along Corso Genova to the end, where you will reach a square. Take the exit on the left, then take the first right into Vico Saline. You have arrived.

Parking
Parking in Chiavari is not always easy, especially during the tourist season. Public and private garages are relatively limited, which is why most residents and visitors either park on the street or have access to a private garage.
Fortunately, the area around the apartment is served mainly by free parking spaces (white lines), although some paid parking areas (blue lines) are also available.

Please note that street-cleaning restrictions apply on specific days, which vary from street to street and sometimes even from one side of the same street to the other. We therefore recommend checking the road signs carefully before leaving your car.
If you cannot find a space in Vico Saline, where parking is indeed limited, we recommend looking in the following nearby areas:
  • Corso Buenos Aires, the road running parallel to Vico Saline, connected by several shortcuts and pedestrian passages that provide quick access to the apartment;
  • Piazza Torriglia;
  • Via Tappani;
  • Corso Italia;
  • Corso Genova (mostly paid parking).

There is also a large parking area in Via Gio Battista Ghio (partly paid, partly free or subject to a daytime parking disc), approximately a 10-minute walk from the apartment.

If you are travelling with heavy luggage, it may be convenient to stop briefly near the building entrance (there are two driveway access points) to unload your belongings before taking your time to find a parking space in the surrounding streets.

Restricted Traffic Zones (ZTL) and the Historic Centre
The apartment is not located within a restricted traffic zone (ZTL). However, if you decide to drive into the narrower streets of the historic centre, please pay close attention to road signs indicating any access restrictions.

The most convenient airports for reaching Chiavari are:

  • Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport (GOA) – This is the closest airport, approximately 45 minutes from Chiavari by train. From the airport, you can reach either Genova Piazza Principe or Genova Brignole railway station by bus or taxi, and then take a regional train to Chiavari.
  • Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport (PSA) – This airport has its own railway station directly connected to the terminal. From there, you can take a train towards La Spezia and continue on to Chiavari. Total journey time is typically around 1 hour and 40 minutes, depending on connections.

Once you arrive at Chiavari railway station, simply follow the directions provided in the “Arriving by Train” section. Alternatively, a taxi is the most convenient option if you are travelling with heavy luggage or as part of a group.
